HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE I WISH YOU HEALTH AND HAPPINESS FOR 2014.
I tried getting this post up yesterday but my computer was having a moment! It is just a quick post on a New Years Eve look.
I went with a simple peplum style dress with an embroidered damask style pattern all over it. I like this style as I am pear shaped so it helps conceal my stomach and hips. My husband bought me this dress last year when he took me to Madrid for my birthday so I can’t link it for you to purchase this exact one because I can’t remember the shop oops 🙂 but ASOS have a lot of different styles for you to check out and they have worldwide shipping.
I also opted for tights I am always cold and the weather has been horrible where I live so I wanted as many layers as I could get away with. I think I bought these tights from Asda. They are just plain black they don’t have a pattern on because the dress has a pattern I didn’t want to overload on patterns (can I say pattern anymore ha!). I also wore my black shoes from ALDO they are so high I do struggle when I wear these so they don’t come out very often only when I know I will be sat down most of the time. When I bought them I thought they were a lower size heel but nope they were sky high. I originally bought these to wear on my hen do so I don’t want to get rid of them instead they can just sit pretty in my wardrobe. You could wear any style shoes with this outfit I went for a full shoe because I was wearing tights.
Excuse the paleness but I’m allergic to all fake tans so it’s au naturel for me which doesn’t bother me. I don’t think I would wear it even if I could I can’t bare the smell. I’ve noticed as I’m getting older smells have a real effect on me now and make me feel ill (I know I’m strange ha)
So an added bonus to this dress is the detail on the back. I love when an outfit has something going on in the back that way you can make an impression when you walk in and walk out haha 😉 I don’t wear a bra with this dress which for now I’m managing to get away with but for bustier ladies there are so many styles of bra’s now that you could easily get one to help support those bad boys and not have a visible strap.
And lastly for my hair and make up. I am rubbish at doing hair and I have a lot of it and I’m ridiculously head sore. I always wash my hair before I go on a night out or somewhere special and I use Pure Vibrance Lustre Fortifying Shampoo and FC5 Nourishing Daily Conditioner (use ID number 441150735 to purchase) these make my hair so shiny and they are full of good ingredients and are paraben free, formaldehyde free (I’m allergic to this so I was drawn to use this product because it specified it wasn’t in it) and sulphate free. I also like REDKEN. I normally always have my hair curly so for a change I blow dried it straight messed it up a bit and swept it into a side parting.
For my make up I wanted to use colour seen as my dress was black.
MAYBELLINE Color Tattoo in Pink Gold as a base
URBAN DECAY Naked 3 Palette in Darkside in the crease
BENEFIT eye shadow in the colour lola I have had this eye shadow for a long time and I can’t find it on the Benefit website but you could use any pink colour. To make the eye shadow pop more I sprayed my brush with MAC Fix + then applied the shadow by pressing it on to my lid. I would recommend doing your eye make up first as you can get fall out of the shadows.
LAURA MERCIER Caviar Eyeliner in black for the winged eyeliner which i topped up with a black shadow for more depth.
BENEFIT BadGal Eyeliner in black in the water line and tight line.
RIMMEL Scandle Eyes Mascara in black
RIMMEL Wake Me Up Foundation in True Ivory
MAC Trace Gold for the top of my cheeks.
REVLON Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout This is my new favourite matte lipstick it is so gorgeous you need this in your life. Or you could use REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish Devotion. I didn’t want to do to much with the lips as the eyes were quite bright.
Hope you all had a great night and have an amazing 2014. I’m looking forward to keeping in contact with you all on here and to grow with you.
BE YOUR OWN KIND OF BEAUTIFUL
